As a Senior Accountant at Brookfield Asset Management, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accounting records of the Corporate team and working with various stakeholders to identify and implement key improvement opportunities. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation and review of quarterly reporting packs, overseeing derivative hedge contracts, and preparing non-audited legal entity financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and review of corporate quarterly reporting packs, including financial statements and support for note disclosures.

Oversee the inventory of derivative hedge contracts across various legal entities, analyzing their impact on financial statements and liaising with capital markets teams.

Prepare and review non-audited legal entity financial statements submitted quarterly.

Prepare and review supporting note schedules for public audited financial statements and management’s discussion and analysis.

Prepare and review quarterly forecasts for derivatives activity.

Collaborate with finance teams and other departments globally on transactions.

Prepare and review monthly close processes, including corporate accounting entries, period-end accruals, and reconciliations.

Support internal and external reporting audits and assist with ad-hoc requests.

Support monthly financial close cycles and identify opportunities to drive improvements and efficiencies.

Produce key metrics and data analysis to support closing of transactions and deals.

Assist in preparing analyses and reports for senior management to support business decision-making.

Assist with other accounting-related projects and functions as required.
