Drive fundraising and stewardship at the Ontario Science Centre
Play a key role in developing new and existing partnerships, achieving revenue goals and delivering exceptional stewardship as part of the Centre’s collaborative Development team.
About the job
As a Development Associate, you will:
• build and maintain effective relationships with donors, sponsors, and volunteers
• create and carry out stewardship strategies to cultivate donor relationships, recognize contributions and ensure ongoing engagement
• research, prepare and edit solicitation documents
• support the planning, logistics and communications for major events
• manage opportunities, reports and entries for CRM
• support annual revenue portfolio
You can:
• develop and implement stewardship plans for donors
• coordinate thank you letters, personalized communications, promotional materials and events of different sizes, to thank donors and encourage renewed giving
• manage annual revenue portfolio
• use fundraising databases (preferably SalesForce) to produce reports and follow up actions
Relationship management and communication skills
You have:
• relationship management skills to engage with donors, volunteers and Ontario Science Centre leadership team
• interpersonal and teambuilding skills to liaise with internal and external groups
• verbal and written communication, persuasion and sales skills
• negotiation, problem solving and diplomacy skills to resolve issues with donors, sponsors and suppliers
Experience in fundraising
You are:
• experienced in prospect research, background profiling, and creating proposals, promotional materials and presentations
• able to make asks, prepare gift agreements, fulfil donors needs, prepare impact reports and track follow up actions
• knowledgeable about fundraising and donor relations principles, techniques, benchmarks and best practices
